What We Believe
This is your sub-headline

At Church Hill United Methodist Church, we are part of the worldwide United Methodist Church — a movement of Christ’s followers who seek to live out faith through love, grace, and service.

Our mission is simple yet powerful:

To make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.

Our Faith

We believe in the Triune God — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — who creates, redeems, and sustains all of life.
We follow Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, whose life, death, and resurrection bring forgiveness, freedom, and new life.
We trust the presence and power of the Holy Spirit to guide us in faith, transform our hearts, and empower us for holy living.

Scripture and the Wesleyan Tradition

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and the primary authority for our faith and practice.
As United Methodists, we also embrace tradition, reason, and experience as ways God helps us understand Scripture and apply it in daily life.

Grace in Action

We believe in God’s grace — freely given and always at work in our lives:

  • Prevenient Grace draws us toward God, even before we’re aware of it.

  • Justifying Grace forgives us and restores our relationship with God through Jesus Christ.

  • Sanctifying Grace helps us grow in love, holiness, and service throughout our lives.

Living Our Faith

Faith is not just what we believe, but how we live.
We express our love for God through worship, prayer, study, and fellowship — and our love for neighbor through acts of compassion, mercy, and justice.
At Church Hill UMC, you’ll find opportunities to serve, grow, and make a difference in the community and the world.

Open Hearts, Open Minds, Open Doors

The United Methodist Church welcomes all people — of every age, race, gender identity, sexual orientation, nationality, and background — to share in the life and ministry of Jesus Christ. We affirm the sacred worth of every person, believing that God’s love is for everyone, without exception.
